The New Orleans Pelicans ended the Memphis Grizzlies' perfect start to the season with a 135-134 overtime victory at the FedExForum on Monday night.

The win snapped the Grizzlies' six-game winning streak, which had matched the best season-opening streak in franchise history. Memphis was the last remaining undefeated team in the NBA.

Zion Williamson scored 25 points for the Pelicans, including nine in overtime. Derik Queen added 20 points, and Karlo Matkovic recorded a career high 25 points.

Ty Jerome scored 40 points for Memphis, including a run of nine straight points in the final 1:43 to tie the game at 124 at the end of regulation. His last-second 15-footer missed, sending the game to overtime.

With 7.3 seconds remaining, Jeremiah Fears hit two free throws to give New Orleans the lead. The Pelicans were without starting guard Dejounte Murray, who missed his third game for personal reasons, and also lost Yves Missi and Jordan Poole to injuries.

The Pelicans' defense forced six Memphis turnovers in the first half, helping New Orleans build a lead. Memphis had outscored opponents in the second half by an average of eight points earlier in the season, but the Grizzlies could not overcome the deficit after trailing 100-95 entering the fourth quarter.

After the final horn, players from both teams engaged in a shouting match at midcourt and had to be separated by officials. The Pelicans are now 3-4 and will face the Utah Jazz at the Smoothie King Center on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
