St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital started construction on its 2027 Memphis Dream Home in Collierville on Monday. The project marks the first time the campaign has returned to the suburb in 16 years.

Dozens of supporters attended the ceremony at The Grove at Clara’s Ridge. The event signaled the start of work for Southern Serenity Homes, which is building its 20th Dream Home for the charity. Mayor Maureen Fraser spoke about the personal connection many residents feel toward the hospital. She noted that people often take the institution for granted until they or their families need its care. Fraser shared that her parents, who had limited funds, always sent money to St. Jude after she lost a brother to childhood cancer. She said she now understands that sacrifice in a way she did not as a child.

Greg Bridgers of Southern Serenity Homes told the crowd that the Mid-South region has consistently supported the campaign. He expressed confidence that Collierville would respond quickly to the upcoming sale. Bridgers predicted the tickets could sell out within a few days due to strong local interest.

Tickets for the 2027 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway will go on sale in March.
