North Texas venues have scheduled 215 distinct Halloween events across six cities, according to a regional activity calendar released on Oct. 23. The listings cover the final days of October and extend into early November, offering families and adults a mix of paid festivals and free community gatherings.
Frisco and The Colony lead the count with high-volume family events. Stewart Creek Park in The Colony hosts a free Family Fright Fest on Oct. 24, featuring hayrides and trick-or-treating. Truck Yard, which operates six locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area including a new Richardson site, runs a simultaneous Halloween party with a limited-time spooky drink menu and costume contests. In Frisco, the PGA District offers Halloween Par-Tee with pumpkin putting and golf cart trick-or-treating, while Frisco Square hosts Trick or Treat the Square from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Plano and McKinney focus on themed dining and interactive attractions. Rest in Plano (R.I.P.) Fest takes over the Downtown Plano Arts District and Haggard Park with carnival rides and live performances on Saturday. Fillmore Pub supplies the themed cocktails for that event. In McKinney, The Yard runs a Halloween Haunt through Oct. 31, serving seasonal drinks that benefit Cody's Friends Dog Rescue. The Stix Icehouse hosts a free Trunk or Treat with Macaroni Kid on Oct. 29, offering adults a Fridged Witch frozen green apple cocktail and children a Slimy Slushy topped with gummy worms.
The Fort Worth Zoo extends its Boo at the Zoo event through Sunday, with ticket prices covering six treat coupons and access to a pumpkin patch and train ride. Klyde Warren Park in Dallas hosts its sixth annual Trick-or-Treating in the Park on Saturday, adding book giveaways from Book Drive for Kids and an outdoor screening of Toy Story 5. Celina's Beware! of the Square festival includes a haunted manor, a kids' zone, and more than 60 market vendors.
Adults seeking a specific nightlife option can board the Grapevine Vintage Railroad's Witches' Brew Train on Oct. 30 and 31. The two-hour round-trip ride uses vintage 1920s coaches and serves Texas craft beer while guests enjoy spooky entertainment.
The event calendar spans a wide range of price points and age groups. Free options include the Family Fright Fest in The Colony and the Trick or Treat in the Park in Dallas. Paid experiences range from the zoo admission in Fort Worth to the cocktail-focused pop-ups at Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa, where the Spookeasy venue pours themed drinks through Nov. 1.
