A Commercial Court in Luhansk Oblast issued a ruling this week requiring the Russian state to pay 65.36 million hryvnia to Oliiar. The sum, equivalent to approximately 1.6 million US dollars, covers the value of sunflower seeds held in a warehouse in Svatove during the conflict.

The dispute originates from a transaction finalized in October 2021. Oliiar purchased 4,700 tonnes of the 2021 harvest from Prydniprovske Agrarian Company LLC. The company contracted Svatove-Ahro LLC to store the crop at a facility in Svatove.

The supplier delivered the full amount to the warehouse. By February 24, 2022, Svatove-Ahro had transferred 2,592 tonnes to Oliiar. This left 2,107 tonnes of seeds in storage when Russian armed groups seized the premises.

Oliiar failed to recover the remaining portion of the purchase. The company is registered in Pustomyty, Lviv Oblast. Iryna Zalizna is the founder, and Iryna Podoba serves as director.

The court determined that Oliiar provided conclusive evidence linking the loss of the crop directly to Russia's armed aggression. The judge ordered the Russian Ministry of Justice to settle the debt. An expert valuation established the compensation figure.

This decision aligns with a prior ruling by the same court. The judge previously ordered Russia to pay 51.67 million hryvnia to Trading House Agrokhim LLC. That case involved property lost in Svatove and Kakhovka.
