Samsung Japan released a specific schedule for the rollout of One UI 9, its operating system built on Android 17. The announcement provides confirmed dates for 40 distinct smartphone and tablet models. While the timing applies strictly to the Japanese market, the list of eligible hardware is expected to mirror the global lineup for the coming months.
The software first became available in September for the Galaxy S26 series. It has since expanded to select previous-generation hardware. The new documentation details the next wave of devices slated for the update, which will be distributed between October and November 2026 in Japan. Samsung anticipates a global rollout that extends beyond this initial period, potentially reaching entry-level devices through January 2027.
The roster includes a wide range of flagship and mid-range devices. Phone models listed include the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra, S25, S25 Ultra, S24, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, S23, and S23 Ultra. Foldable devices on the list are the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5. Mid-range options include the Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36, and A25.
Tablets comprise a large portion of the eligible hardware. The list covers the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra, the Tab S10, S10+, S10 Ultra, S10 FE, S10 FE+, and S10 Lite. Older S-series tablets such as the Tab S9, S9+, S9 Ultra, S9 FE, and S9 FE+ are also included. The lineup concludes with the Tab S6 Lite (2024), Tab A11, Tab A11+/5G, and Tab Active 5 Pro.
The published list is not exhaustive. It omits several likely candidates, including the "Plus" variants of recent Galaxy S flagships. Many Galaxy A-series models and devices exclusive to other regions are also absent from the document. Owners of these unlisted devices may still receive the update, but the timing has not been formally confirmed by Samsung Japan.
The rollout strategy indicates a phased approach to software distribution. By specifying dates for 40 devices in a single market, Samsung provides a benchmark for global expectations. The company continues to update its official tracking pages as the software reaches more hardware. The next phase of updates is scheduled to begin in October 2026.
