The St. Louis metro area will experience its warmest afternoon of the week today.
Temperatures are expected to reach the lower 80s under partly sunny skies. Most of the region will remain dry, though light showers or drizzle may occur in the far northwest before overnight hours.
Weather will cool over the weekend. Friday highs will approach the 80-degree mark. Saturday, which falls on Halloween, will start mostly cloudy and dry with highs in the lower 70s. Forecasters now predict a 20% to 30% chance of isolated or scattered showers in the evening and overnight. This probability is lower than previous estimates suggested.
Residents must set their clocks back one hour on Saturday night to return to Standard Time. Sunday will feature cloudy conditions with scattered morning showers. Afternoon temperatures will hit an above-normal 72 degrees.
Rain chances will expand starting Monday and continue through Wednesday. Meteorologists expect more impactful rainfall totals during this stretch. Afternoon highs will sit in the lower 70s. By the second half of next week, temperatures will fall into the mid to lower 60s.
