Law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin are investigating a possible connection between an escaped Tennessee inmate and a bank robbery that occurred in Deerfield on Tuesday. The manhunt for Jacob Allen Morley, who broke out of the Northwest Correctional Complex on Monday, has expanded across state lines as investigators review new evidence.

Dane County officials reported that a gunman entered the Bank of Deerfield shortly before closing time. The suspect demanded cash, restrained two employees, and fled with the money. No injuries were reported during the incident. The robber stole a Lincoln MKZ from the parking lot to make his escape. Police later located the vehicle unoccupied.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation acknowledged awareness of the Wisconsin robbery. However, the agency has not yet confirmed that Morley is the individual responsible for the crime. Morley originally escaped by stealing a white 2008 Ford F-150. The truck, which bore the name Lindamood Planting Company, was found abandoned in Marion, Illinois, early Tuesday. Police stated there is currently no evidence that Morley remains in that specific area of Illinois.

Morley is serving a life sentence for the 2022 murder of Cody Birchfield. He is currently listed on the Tennessee Most Wanted List, and authorities advise that he should be considered dangerous. Tyreece Miller, the U.S. marshal for the Western District of Tennessee, has increased the reward for information leading to his arrest to $15,000. Daniel Russell, a friend of the victim, described Morley as a monster who will do it again.

Investigators urge the public to call 1-800-TBI-FIND with any information. If a person spots Morley, they are instructed not to approach him and to call 911 immediately.
