The Wisconsin women's tennis team completed a doubleheader with 7-0 victories over Bradley and Green Bay on Saturday. The Badgers improved their season record to 6-0, marking the best start to a campaign since 1992. The team won both matches by the same margin, with every singles and doubles contest ending in a straight-set victory for Wisconsin.

The program's undefeated streak began with a win over Bradley, followed immediately by a shutout of Green Bay. Green Bay fielded only five players in the second match, a shortage that limited their ability to contest the matches. Wisconsin established its lead in the doubles round, setting the pace for the subsequent singles events.

Freshman MaryAnn Rompf and senior Kelsey Grambeau opened the scoring against Bradley, defeating Theresa Tebon and Tallie Piaskowski 6-1. Sophomore Melissa Pick and freshman Lexi Keberle followed with a 6-0 win over Maria Neff and Samm Pedersen. Keberle continued her dominance in singles, beating Tebon 6-1, 6-1 at the number one position. She remains unbeaten in all matches this season, holding a combined record of 7-0.

Rompf secured the second singles point against Piaskowski with a 6-3, 6-1 score. Michelle Linden won at third singles against Sterre Tijssens, 6-1, 6-0. Pick defeated Neff 6-0, 6-0, while Christina Zordani beat Pedersen 6-0, 6-1 at fifth singles. Zordani improved her individual singles record to 5-0 for the season. No Wisconsin player lost a single set across both matches.

Head coach Kelcy McKenna attributed the performance to the team's focus on controllable factors. "They did a great job with the controlables: their attitude, their effort and their energy," McKenna said. "Those three things are extremely important to our success." She emphasized the need to maintain this level of preparation through daily drills and match simulations.

McKenna identified specific areas for improvement, particularly in doubles execution. "We need to do a little bit of a better job cleaning up our doubles in terms of serves and returns," she said. The coach also stressed the importance of carrying momentum from doubles into singles. "We have to make sure as we move into singles, if we do have the doubles point, that we carry the momentum with us and try to be gritty and not give away free points," she added.

The team will return to competition from Feb. 9 to 12. Wisconsin is set to host the National Team Indoor Championship during that period. The Badgers aim to extend their perfect record in that event.
