27.1 Reaches Just 1 iPhone Model as Apple Moves the Rest to 27.2
iOS 27.0.1 remains the newest version available to every iPhone outside the Duo lineup.

Apple pushed iOS 27.1 over the air the night before October 23, and it landed on a single device: the iPhone Duo.
Owners of any other iPhone who open Settings, then General, then Software Update, will see iOS 27.0.1 listed as the current version. Apple is skipping iOS 27.1 for those models and moving them straight to iOS 27.2, which has been in beta testing for roughly the past month and is scheduled to reach all users next week.
The company's approach breaks from its usual practice of shipping a point release to every compatible device. According to Apple's release notes and people familiar with the rollout, the split was designed to keep Duo details out of a public beta cycle. Apple unveiled the Duo last month, but many features and specifications only surfaced publicly in the days before the device went on sale. Holding iOS 27.1 back from other hardware meant those details stayed under wraps until launch.
The Duo also carries custom iOS designs and features that Apple built for that specific model. Keeping the update limited to the Duo avoided managing those changes alongside unrelated phones, according to the people familiar with the planning.
iOS 27.2 arrives next week with Suggested Actions in Messages, a new app icon and an updated Apple Music design, user profiles in Apple TV, an overhauled Up Next queue in Apple Podcasts, Dual Capture for FaceTime group calls, and additional Siri AI language support. iOS 27.0.1 remains the latest version for every iPhone other than the Duo.
