Barry Keoghan has confirmed he underwent a second cosmetic facial treatment to tighten his skin, a decision that has divided fan opinion online. The 34-year-old actor, known for roles in "Eternals" and "Saltburn," appeared in a video posted last week by dermatologist Nilam Holmes. The clip shows him receiving a XERF procedure on his face at Holmes' clinic, Dermaspa.
The treatment is described as noninvasive and designed to address mild to moderate skin laxity. According to the clinic's website, the process does not involve needles or numbing cream. A single session for the face and neck costs approximately $3,300, while a two-visit package costs around $6,000.
Keoghan said in the video that he feels better about himself after the procedure. "I look better, and I think it's important to look after yourself inside and outside," he stated. He noted that each visit feels relaxing and therapeutic. Holmes added in her caption that this was his second XERF treatment and that his skin has improved over the last few years.
The actor has previously spoken about the pressure he faces regarding his appearance. In a March interview with SiriusXM, he described receiving a lot of hate online about how he looks. "It's made me really go inside myself, not want to attend places, not want to go outside," he said. About a month later, he told the "Friends Keep Secrets" podcast that he stopped socializing and attending events amid rumors about his relationship with Sabrina Carpenter.
Reaction to the new video was mixed. Some fans expressed surprise, with one commenter writing that they always thought he looked handsome and did not need to do anything. Another suggested he not let harsh words affect him, calling him pretty hot. Other fans praised the result, with one describing his skin as flawless and brand new. Another joked about getting the treatment when they win the lottery.
Keoghan is currently working on several upcoming projects. He is set to play the Joker opposite Robert Pattinson in "The Batman: Part II," which is scheduled for release in 2028. He has also been spotted in costume as Ringo Starr for Sam Mendes' four-part "Beatles" films. Those projects will also star Harrison Dickinson, Paul Mescal, and Joseph Quinn as John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison, respectively.
Holmes said she has been working with Keoghan for a while, looking after his skin through various movies and campaigns. She noted that the trust he places in her means a lot and that he offered to let her film the session. The video has become a focal point for discussions about celebrity appearances and the costs associated with maintaining them in public view.
