K Club, a Metro area nonprofit, has set a goal of gathering 1,000 handmade cards for Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jalen Williams. The organization is asking fans to write personal messages to support Williams and teammate Cason Wallace during their recovery periods.

The drive follows a painful Sunday game where the Thunder defeated the Los Angeles Clippers. Williams sustained a fractured fibula and a dislocation in his left leg during that contest. General Manager Sam Presti confirmed on Monday that Williams will require surgery to repair the damage.

The nonprofit posted on Facebook that the cards are intended to provide encouragement. "We want to collect 1000 cards for J Dub so that anytime he’s discouraged, he can open a card from a fan who is wishing him well," the group wrote. The organization hopes these notes will serve as a reminder that the local community stands behind the players.

Fans of all ages can participate in the effort. K Club encourages supporters to create cards and write specific messages of support. Details on how to submit the cards are available on the organization's Facebook page. The group is also asking participants to spread the word about the initiative to reach the 1,000 card target.

Williams and Wallace are currently recovering from their respective injuries. The card drive is part of a wider community response to the players' difficult weekend. The nonprofit aims to deliver the collected messages to the players as they work through their rehabilitation.
